The M50 in Gloucestershire/Worcestershire is closed eastbound between J2 near Ledbury and J1 near Tewkesbury, due to a serious collision involving 2 vehicles.

The westbound carriageway has re-opened however, lane 2 remains closed.    

Emergency services remain in attendance. 

A spokesperson for Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service told Your Herefordshire:

“Four Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews – one each from Upton-upon-Severn, Evesham, Droitwich and Ledbury Fire Stations – supported by a Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service crew from Tewkesbury Fire Station were called at 11:02 to an RTC involving large vehicles on the M50 Eastbound between junctions one and two. 

“The incident involves two LGVs. Police (log 149i) and Ambulance (log 1508) are also in attendance with the incident ongoing.”

National Highways Traffic Officers are in attendance, assisting with traffic management.

Traffic caught within the closure is in the process of being released via rearward relief. 

Road users travelling eastbound are advised to follow the Solid Square diversion symbol on road signs

Exit the M50 northbound at J2 and turn right onto the A417. 

Continue on the A417 until the roundabout with the A40, take the 1st exit onto the A40. 

Continue on the A40 until the M5 J11 and take the 1st exit onto the M5 northbound.
