A lady has suffered a nasty ankle injury after slipping on Pen y Fan today.

Brecon Mountain Rescue Team were called by Dyfed-Powys Police to assist the Welsh Ambulance Service NHS Trust in assisting the injured lady.

A spokesperson for the Brecon Mountain Rescue Team said:

“The team were contacted by Heddlu Dyfed-Powys Police to assist the Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust with a casualty on Pen y Fan who had slipped and sustained a nasty ankle injury.

“Passers by helped the lady until team members started to arrive to warm the casualty up and assess the injury. The casualty was given pain relief on site, then extracted off the mountain by stretcher to an awaiting ambulance. Many thanks to Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team who assisted us with this call out.

“If by any chance you were the passers by who helped the casualty until we arrived, we think we may have some of your clothing that was used to help warm them up. We have it safe and sound so please give us a message to arrange collection and many thanks for your assistance.”
