Health Secretary Matt Hancock will reveal later which tier of COVID-19 restrictions each area of England will be under when the national lockdown ends next week.
Many business owners will be glued to the television later, in the hope that Herefordshire will avoid the strictest of restrictions. The main area of concern is hospitality. Hospitality venues such as pubs and restaurants can open under Tier 1 & 2 restrictions, although under Tier 2 restrictions they MUST only serve alcohol with a substantial meal and there must be no household mixing indoors. Under Tier 3 restrictions, these venues can only offer a takeaway service, meaning that for many, reopen will simply not be viable.
We’ll keep you updated on Your Herefordshire throughout the day.
