There are increasing calls for Sir Captain Tom Moore to be honoured with a statue.

Captain Tom raised an incredible £33 million by walking laps of his garden during the first COVID-19 lockdown earlier this year. He had initially set out to raise £1,000 to support the NHS, but soon became a global sensation when news of his fundraising went viral online.

Sir Captain Tom Moore sadly passed away earlier this week with COVID-19. Sir Tom was admitted to hospital after struggling with his breathing.

Vaccines Minister Nadhim Zahawi has joined the increasing calls for Sir Captain Tom Moore to be honoured with a statue by telling Good Morning Britain that he was ‘absolutely in favour of a great big statue’.
