HSBC has confirmed that it is to close more than 100 of its branches over the coming months, with more and more of its customers switching to online banking.
HSBC has confirmed that two of its Herefordshire branches, those in Leominster and Ross-on-Wye will close next year. Branches in nearby areas such as Abergavenny, Chepstow and Brecon are also on the closure list.
The HSBC branch in Ross-on-Wye is scheduled for closure on 20th June 2023, with the Leominster branch scheduled for close on the 25th April 2023.
The HSBC branch in Hereford will remain open.
The company has said that the COVID-19 pandemic and changes in the way that people use their local bank is behind the reason to close so many branches.
