Herefordshire’s COVID-19 infection rate continues to rise, with the focus of attention very much on one area of the county where over 20 new cases of the virus have been recorded in the seven days ending 6th June.
In the seven days ending 6th June, Herefordshire’s COVID-19 infection rate was 29.6 cases per 100,000 population, this is UP on the previous seven day period when Herefordshire’s COVID-19 infection rate was 8.8 cases per 100,000 population.
Much of the increase is down to a significant increase in cases in the Fownhope, Tarrington and Marcle area. In the seven day period ending 30th May, just two cases of COVID-19 were recorded in this area. However, in the seven day period ending 6th June, COVID-19 cases in this area of Herefordshire shot up, with 22 new cases of the virus were recorded, leaving a COVID-19 infection rate of 320.7 cases per 100,000 population.
In data ending 6th June, Herefordshire’s COVID-19 infection rate has risen to 29.6 cases per 100,000 population, mainly due to an increase in cases in the following areas:
Fownhope, Tarrington & Marcle (22 new cases) – Infection rate of 320.7 cases per 100,000 population. (+1000% on previous seven days)
Ledbury (13 new cases) – Infection rate of 129.3 cases per 100,000 population. (+116.7% on previous seven days)
Golden Valley (4 new cases) Infection rate of 64 cases per 100,000 population. (+100% on previous seven days)
