Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews were called to NatWest bank on Broad Street in Hereford on Friday, to reports of a fire.

Two crews from Hereford attended the incident.

A spokesperson for Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service told Your Herefordshire:

“Two Hereford &Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews from Hereford Station were called at 10:33 on 16 December to smoke issuing at a building in Broad Street. 

“It turned that this was a well intentioned false alarm caused by smoke from a nearby outdoor fire being draw in through an air handling unit. 

“The outdoor fire was extinguished by fire service personnel using drag forks and beaters. There were no casualties and the incident was declared closed at 11:49.”
