A woman was rescued from the River Wye by emergency services in Hereford overnight.
West Mercia Police, West Midlands Ambulance Service, Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service and Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service all attended the incident near Greyfriars Bridge in Hereford.
A spokesperson for Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service told Your Herefordshire:
“Two Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews – from Hereford and Fownhope Fire Stations – plus the water rescue team from Hereford, supported by a Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service crew from Hay on Wye were called at 22:09 to a person threatening to jump into water near the Greyfriars Bridge in Hereford.
“A female casualty was rescued from the water by fire service personnel and handed over to the ambulance service.
“Police also attended. The incident was marked as pending closure at 00:31.”
