The Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service Animal Rescue Team have managed  to rescue a cow that had fallen into a pit full of waste.

A spokesperson for Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said:

“A mucky afternoon for the large animal rescue team from Bromyard.

“They were called to a local farm to rescue a cow that had fallen into a cesspit full of waste.

“Before the rescue could take place the pit had to be pumped out.

“Andrew the Vet from Belmont Farm & Equine Vets was on scene to look after the welfare of the cow.

“After  the pit was emptied straps were placed around the cow she was the sedated.

“After a few minutes it was safe to lift her from the pit and she was then carried a short distance into the barn where she put on some nice dry clean straw.”
