Heavy rain and strong winds are currently affecting Herefordshire, with up to 25mm (one inch) of rain possible by the end of the day.
However, the heaviest of the rain will fall across parts of South & Mid Wales, where up to 100mm (four inches) of rain could fall, leading to the possibility of localised flooding.
No major issues are expected on our local rivers, with levels well below the average for the time of year. Today’s rain will see levels rise to more normal levels for mid May.
Bryan from Herefordshire Weather Watch has forecasted the following for today:
“A wet and windy day with heavy persistent spells of rain during the morning. The rain will continue through the afternoon before easing later this afternoon. Mild with highs of 15c.”
