Halifax has confirmed that it will be closing one of its branches in Herefordshire later this year.

The branch, which is located on West Street in Leominster, will close its doors for the final time on 13th November 2023, Halifax has confirmed.

A spokesperson for Halifax explained the reasons behind the decision by saying:

“The world is becoming more digital than ever before and more of our customers are doing their everyday banking online.

“With more customers choosing to use digital ways to bank and manage their money, visits at this branch have fallen.

“As a result, we’ve made the difficult decision to close it.

“What this means for you – We’re still here to support you and there’s a number of ways you can do your everyday banking with us – online, on your mobile, over the phone or at a Post Office®.

“You can use any of our branches and the nearest alternative is the Hereford branch.

“And after the branch closes we’ll have a Community Banker visit this area. They can offer support and guidance on the ways you can bank with us.”

A further update will be provided in the weeks leading up to the closure of the branch.

The Leominster branch is one of a number of Halifax branches closing in market towns across the country, with the Malvern branch closing on 6th November 2023.
