Frank Miles was the former Chairman of Hereford United from 1969-1978. Under his stewardship the club rose from the Southern League to Division Two, this would be the equivalent of rising now from the National League to the Championship.
His granddaughter Jody Evans currently lives in Swansea and contacted the Herefordshire FA to see if they had any photographs, or archive footage of her late grandad. They then put her in touch with Hereford United historian Ron Parrott who provided her family with the below photographs of Frank Miles.
Jody told Your Herefordshire “I miss my grandad so much, he loved his cigars and his pipe. He was such a kind man. I was so emotional and grateful to see theses pictures as the family had never seen them before”
In the Your Herefordshire archive we were able to delve into the vaults and provide Jody with footage of Miles speaking in 1997 at the 25 year anniversary of the Hereford United Giantkillers.
Miles sadly passed away in January 2006 aged 72, but his legacy will always live on at Edgar Street.
