Fully vaccinated adults in England no longer have to self-isolate if they come into close contact with somebody that’s tested positive for COVID-19 from today.

From today, fully vaccinated adults and those under 18, will not have to self-isolate if they are a contact of a positive case of COVID-19. This will be seen as a positive move by businesses, with many struggling recently due to staff isolating after being pinged by the NHS COVID-19 app. A number of businesses in Herefordshire have been affected by this in recent months, with restaurants such as Wagamama and Nando’s forced to close their doors due to a lack of staff.

Instead, those that have been in contact with a positive case of COVID-19 will be advised to take a COVID-19 test (PCR), however they will not need to self-isolate whilst they wait for the result.

Those that test positive for COVID-19 will still be legally told to self-isolate to limit the spread of the virus.
