Fire crews from Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service as well as officers from West Mercia Police have been called to a disused building in Hereford this afternoon.

The incident is at a disused building on Eign Street in Hereford and it’s the second time in a matter of weeks that emergency services have been called to the property.

A spokesperson for Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service told Your Herefordshire:

“Two Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews from Hereford Fire Station were called at 15:29 on 4 January to a fire in a derelict building in Eign Street, Hereford.

“The fire, on the ground floor of the building, was extinguished by two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and using a hosereel. Crews are currently carrying out a search of the first floor and basement area.”

A fire at the property in November saw a number of crews remain on the scene for several hours.
