A family has been left terrified after an attempted car jacking in Herefordshire late yesterday evening.
At 11.30pm there was an attempted car jacking on on a family in Herefordshire. The family that was targeted aren’t from Hereford but the M50 was closed so they had to reroute to get in to Wales.
The road that they travelled along was the A4103 towards the A465 where they travelled along Folly Lane and past ‘The Cock Tupsley’.
A member of the family said the following:
“I implore anyone who has CCTV or knows of anyone along the A4103 who may have CCTV to PLEASE check it. West Mercia Police were informed immediately but they quickly made off. There were 3 vehicles; a maroon/red hatchback, a motorbike and a large dark coloured van that looked like a big horse truck.
“I can assume they had the motorbike in the large van when they made off after blocking the road to try and stop us. Luckily with quick thinking we managed to get away but someone elderly or travelling alone may not be so lucky! They had followed us from near the Red Lion pub at a junction, and attempted to stop us just after Yarkhill. Please contact police if anyone has any information as we suspect this is likely to happen in the same area. We had our child in our car and they obviously have no consideration that someone vulnerable could have been in the car.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact West Mercia Police on 101 using reference – 833_i_29072020.
