Fallen trees are causing disruption on many roads and also on rail routes in Herefordshire this afternoon.
Strong winds were forecast to affect the county today, with Hereford’s Christmas Market cancelled due to concerns over public safety.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said:
“Winds are picking up and the control room is very busy with reports of fallen trees. be careful out there on the roads.”
Routes affected in Herefordshire at present are:
A49 (Dinmore Hill) – Partially Blocked
B4362 (South of Orleton Village) – Partially Blocked
Sandpits Leominster – Blocked by Fallen Tree
There is also disruption to rail services, with a fallen tree causing the cancellation of services between Hereford and Worcester this afternoon.
We’ll have further updates this afternoon.
