The family of a 22-year-old who took his own life are demanding improvements to mental health services so that no more young people end up committing suicide due to struggling to get help.

The family of 22-year-old Jamie Bagagiolo have set up a petition demanding an improvement to services. Jamie, aged 22, from Redditch in Worcestershire took his own life after sending a text message to his father saying, “I just want help and they never do”. Just hours later, on the 31st January, Jamie took his life.

Jamie was taken to Hereford County Hospital in November after taking an overdose and his family believe he received a lack of support from mental health services following his stay in hospital.

A post on the petition page set up by family members says:

“My nephew aged 22 took his own life because he could not get the support he needed!

“He was turned away numerous times and this should never have happened. Our mental Health Services are a disgrace!

“We need to stop other young people and families going through this pain!”
