Actor Dave Prowse has died aged 85 following a short illness, his agent has confirmed.
Prowse was best known for playing Darth Vader in the original Star Wars trilogy.
Prowse will also be fondly remembered as the safety superhero of the Green Cross Code multimedia campaign that began in the 1970s.
Bowington Management confirmed his passing in a post on Facebook this morning:
“It’s with great sadness that we have to announce that our client DAVE PROWSE M.B.E. passed away yesterday morning at the age of 85.”
