The Coronavirus infection rate in Herefordshire continues to fall, despite a slight increase in cases over the past couple of weeks.
22 new cases were recorded in the 14 days ending 2nd August, meaning that the infection rate in Herefordshire was 11.5 cases per 100,000 population, far below that of those areas that have been put into a local lockdown. (Blackburn & Darwin — 160.5 cases per 100,000 population)
Herefordshire’s infection rate is currently placed in 110th place out of 369 areas that data is taken from. However, it is worth bearing in mind that during the two weeks that this data is from, cases at AS Green & Co Ltd near Malvern were still being identified, meaning that the case rate in the community would actually be even lower than these figures suggest.
There still needs to be an air of caution however, with two further cases recorded in the county on 07/08, taking the total number of cases in Herefordshire to 892 since the outbreak started. No further COVID-19 related deaths have been recorded at hospitals in Herefordshire. The total number of COVID-19 related deaths at hospitals in the county remains at 57.
