Concern as wildfire spreads close to houses in a Herefordshire village this evening.
Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews are tackling a wildfire in the Bartestree area of Herefordshire this evening.
The fire has spread to surrounding land and is close to an electricity substation, meaning that some supplies are affected to properties in the area. The majority of the properties affected are in the HR1 area of the county.
Local residents have reported seeing flames and smoke rising from fields throughout the evening, with the UK set to enter another long period of hot weather this coming week. No rain is forecast for the foreseeable and therefore there will be concerns that fires like this could become a regular occurrence.
