The owners of The Children’s Book Shop & Kids Hub have this evening announced that the store will be closing its doors.
A post on their Facebook page said:
It is with a very heavy heart that tonight we have to tell you all the sad news that we are to close the shop. 😔😔😔
We are truly devastated, and we have tried everything to prevent this from happening.
We are out of options, the rent and overheads are now beyond our means, and the footfall is just not there for us at the moment.
Since March we have lost all our trade from the HUB upstairs, all our school trade (we go into schools to run pop up book sales throughout the year), both of which normally cover the rent on the shop.
To enable us to be able to move forward, the only option available to us is to close the shop.
We want to thank everybody who has supported us before and since Covid, we have been truly blessed to come across such kind and caring people.
