Businesses and community groups came together in April once again to help clean up dirty or weed filled areas of the city.
The areas included the Castle Green duck pond, Ledbury Road, Harrison Street and Gaol Street as part of a collaboration organised by the Hereford Business Improvement District.
With a combined team of 16 people, 12 black bags of weeds and litter were taken away which were the result of efforts from Reed in Partnership, students with educational needs from Beacon College (Tupsley), Maylord Orchards, Hereford Community Clean-up Group and Hereford Business Improvement District (Hereford BID).
Mike Truelove, CEO for the Hereford BID and organiser of the event said, “this was our latest clean-up event of tackling an area of the city in need of some urgent care and attention; the quantity of weeds and detritus we extracted was incredible and would not have happened without the help of groups like these who are willing to put something back into the city”.
The next Business & Community Clean-up is Wednesday 5th July, and anyone interested should contact Mike directly at the Hereford BID.
