An update from Beryl Bikes in advance about a change in the fees for using Beryl Bikes in Hereford.
From Wednesday 29th July 2020, the out of bay parking fee for Beryl Bikes will change to £5 from the current £2.
The increase in the fee is to encourage riders to end their ride in a Beryl Bay wherever possible. This helps to ensure the responsible use of the service, leaving pavements and public areas free from obstructions. It also brings our Hereford scheme in line with our other schemes in the UK.
We are working closely with Herefordshire Council on installing new bays based on suggestions collected from Hereford users. We’re planning to install bays as soon as we safely can, in line with current restrictions on travel and working. This will bring the majority of residents to within 5 minutes of a Beryl Bay across Hereford.
The change in the out of bay fee coincides with the start of our free riding summer! All Beryl riders in Hereford will be able to ride for free for up to 30 minutes, starting on the 29th of July and running throughout August. Stay tuned for more information!
