Your Herefordshire understands that a number of staff at Special Metals Wiggin Ltd in Hereford have been made redundant.
The majority of those made redundant have worked for the company for just a few months, with one of those affected telling Your Herefordshire:
“I left my old job to join a new thriving company and after 7 weeks I’ve been told my services are no longer required.
“I have a mortgage and a family to feed.
“I’ve been made redundant along with 19 other new employees. Last in first out apparently.”
Your Herefordshire understands that workers at the company are currently pushing for an improved pay offer, with little movement after several months of negotiations.
