A Herefordshire school will be partially closed on Thursday due to an environmental issue which has led to sewage leaking into the school grounds.

The issue affects Westfield School in Leominster.

A post on the Herefordshire Council School Closures page said:

“The younger classes of Westfield School, (Squirrel, Hedgehog, Otter and Robin) will be closed on Thursday 25th January due to an environmental issue on Westfield Walk, which has led to sewage polluting the grounds and carpark.

“Upper school classes, (Red Kite, Woodpecker and sixth form) can still access their building which is unaffected.

“All staff should report to Ryelands building in the morning.

“Do not access the Westfield site which is contaminated.”
