Investigating officers are appealing for witnesses to a fatal collision which took place in Churchdown this morning, Monday 4 October.

Police were called to Station Road close to the junction with Albemarle Road at around 9.25am with a report of a collision involving a black Mercedes Benz E class and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a man in his 70s and from the local area, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene despite paramedics and the Air Ambulance being in attendance. His next of kin has been informed.

Road closures remain in place on Station Road between the junction with Albemarle Road between the Churchdown Community Centre roundabout and the Brookfield Road junction.

Investigating officers would like to hear from anyone who has not already been spoken to and who may have witnessed what happened.

Anyone who has dashcam footage of the collision or any footage that they may feel may be relevant is also asked to get in contact.
