West Mercia Police have this evening confirmed that a man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted rape as police continue investigations into a number of sexual offences that have happened near the River Wye in Hereford in recent weeks.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police told Your Herefordshire:
“On 13th August we issued a statement relating to a sexual assault that happened on the river path between Hinton Road and King George V playing fields in Hereford.
“The incident occurred on the previous night, Friday 12 August, at around 10pm.
“We can today confirm that a 48 year old man from Hereford was arrested on suspicion of attempted rape on 17 August.
“He has been bailed with conditions pending further enquiries.
“Regarding the other arrests relating to the other incidents, enquiries are continuing. There have been no charges.”
