West Mercia Police have provided an update on a threat that was made to Hereford Leisure Centre on Thursday evening.

From West Mercia Police:

Threat made to Hereford Leisure Centre.

Extensive searches have been carried out following an anonymous bomb threat that was made to Hereford Leisure Centre yesterday (Thursday 23 January).

No bomb, or any other threat, was found and the cordon has now been lifted.

Inspector Julie Watson, from Hereford’s Problem Solving Hub, said: “Understandably, the evacuation of the leisure centre yesterday will have raised concern for those present and the local community.

“It was vitally important we took steps to ensure the threat was not genuine and that there was no risk to public safety. Thankfully, our searches established that there was no threat, and the leisure centre has since reopened.

“An investigation is now underway to understand the nature of the call and enquiries will continue to identify the person responsible.”
