A huge number of tributes have been paid following the news of the passing of Martin Oliver, a popular figure in local football and also skittles.
Martin passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday 3rd April.
Martin played skittles for over 40 years and was also a linesman at many football matches at weekends. He was also an avid train enthusiast.
His family say that he will be sadly missed.

“Sad news worked with him at Cargill for years and also played skittles against him. Thoughts are with the family at this sad time.”

“I’ve known Ollie for about 40 years, from running the line when I played football at Hinton, I played against him at skittles too many times to count, and he was also a valued colleague who served on the skittle committee.
“A great character who will be sadly missed. RIP Ollie.”
Tupsley Girls FC said:
“Olly, you’ll be sorely missed. Happy memories of you officiating our games at Gorsty Lane on a Sunday morning.
