Can you help Hereford and Worcester Animal Rescue find a home for Ross or Joey?

Ross – Lurcher – Approximately 12 months old

Another unclaimed stray!!

Young Ross, aka ‘mad as a box of frogs!’

We just love this young lad, we feel he’s had a rather tough time, he can be very submissive and would drop to the floor whenever he was approached.

Now that Ross has learnt to trust us he’s the happiest, bouncy boy that just loves attention.

Ross will need to learn some boundaries as he doesn’t seem to understand personal space currently- typical (rather large) puppy behaviour and he’s just so affectionate!

We ignore any jumping up or silliness and reward him when he’s lovely and calm with all four paws on the floor.

We know he will get there, it just takes time and patience, we are just so pleased he’s learnt to love and trust us and he’s now a far cry from the vulnerable young lad that arrived with us a little while ago.

It is possible that young Ross could live with another  compatible, kind dog.

Ross has not been assessed around cats.

Any children in the home would need to be 8 years + as we have no previous history.

Joey – Lurcher  – Approximately 2 years old

How gorgeous is Mr Joey!

Recently found as a stray and left unclaimed, Joey is now searching for his forever family.

When he first arrived Joey was very unsure of everything and just took himself off to bed, he was just existing.

Throughout the following week he slowly started coming out of his shell, a little tail wag here and a little bum wiggle there, he now feels very safe and happy around the ones he knows and trusts.

He may take a few steps back within a new home environment but it won’t be long until his true character shines through again.

Joey has been no trouble at all, he keeps his head down and does whatever we ask of him.

Joey loves a cuddle and he knows when he’s being a good boy, his manners may need a little polishing but we are sure it won’t take long for him understand a new routine.

A home with other dogs may be possible, he has not been tested around cats.

Any children in his new home must be over 8 years old.

Joey visited Brookfield Vets, Hereford & Ledbury today to have his full health check, chip, started his vaccines etc and he had a great time, he really enjoyed meeting their lovely new vet Jemima.
