Welsh Water has issued an urgent message to hundreds of residents in Hereford, with issues due to a burst water main in the Holmer area.

From Welsh Water:

Burst water main affecting supplies in Holmer and surrounding areas of Hereford

We’re aware of a burst on our network which is affecting the water supply to this area. Until the pipe is fixed, you may experience low pressure.

We expect all supplies to be fully restored by later this afternoon. We apologise for any inconvenience caused

There are five main stages we follow when repairing leaks and bursts:

Stage 1 – Investigation. We review the customer impact, risk and health and safety concerns.

Stage 2 – Fault located. Repair planning, working with 3rd parties, road closures, ordering of specialist equipment or fittings. Reconfiguring the water network.

Stage 3 – Repair. Ensuring the safety of our teams and the public while we repair the leak.

Stage 4 – Restoring / Reinstatement. Returning the water network to normal and making good any surfaces.

Stage 5 – Final update.
