Multiple fire crews are currently responding to a fire at a property in Herefordshire.

A spokesperson for Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service told Your Herefordshire:

“Five Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews – from Kington, Kingsland, Eardisley, Leominster and Hereford Fire Stations – plus a Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service crew from Presteigne, a water carrier from Leominster and the incident command unit from Ledbury were called at 07:17 on 27 January to a house fire in Bearwood. 

“The fire, in a two storey house around 20m by 5m, had begun in the roof space and spread to the first floor. The fire was fought by six firefighters wearing breathing apparatus using two hosereel jets. 

“A thermal imaging camera, a 9m ladder and a roof ladder were also in use. 

“Damping down is taking place on the first floor and in the roof space with cutting away in progress. Oil fired central heating and electricity have been isolated. 

“Ambulance have been notified although no casualties have been reported. Police are also in attendance with a road closure in operation. The incident is still ongoing as at 10:54.”
