Barrie Horton, who works at Thomas Panels and Profiles in Leominster, thought he’d do something different this Christmas.

Instead of sitting at home eating a large breakfast, he took part in the Porthcawl Christmas Morning Swim in aid of ECHO, the local charity which supports adults with learning and other disabilities. As a result, he has raised a massive   tbc

“The weather wasn’t as bad as it had been the previous week when we had ice and snow, but it was still bleak and cold beyond belief”, he said. “To be honest I became delirious halfway through – but I did it and I’m so pleased I’ve raised so much for ECHO,which is a marvellous local charity in Leominster. I think everyone should support them”.

Mike Cook, Chief Officer at ECHO, said, “All of us here send our congratulations and thanks to Barrie for his sterling efforts for us. I think he was a very brave soul taking this on in the middle of winter – definitely rather him than me!”

He added, “He’s raised a fantastic amount for us, and we’d like to thank everyone who supported him through his fundraising page or sponsorship form, including a generous donation of £500 from Thomas Panels and Profiles.”

For more than 30 years, Thomas Panels and Profiles, based in Leominster, have supplied and manufactured roofing and cladding products for a diverse client base. They are the UK’s market leader in steel frame building components.
