A man has been rescued from a cave in the Brecon Beacons after being trapped for two days.
The incident occurred at the Ogof Ffynnon Ddu cave system near Penwyllt in Powys.
Cave rescue teams from across the United Kingdom have been involved in the rescue mission, with Severn Area Rescue Association (Tewkesbury) joining in with the efforts.
The news broke at around 8pm this evening that he had been rescued but his condition is currently unknown. We await further updates.
They posted the following on Facebook earlier today:
“You may have read of an ongoing cave rescue currently underway in the Brecon Beacons for a gentleman trapped in the Ogof Ffynnon Ddu cave system. Eight teams constituting 242 rescue personnel are now on scene. SARA Tewkesbury crew members who are also in Gloucestershire Cave Rescue Group have also gone to assist and last night the station also sent up additional medical supplies in support.
“Our thoughts are with the gentleman, his family and to everyone involved in his safe recovery.”
