Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Chancellor Rishi Sunak are not self-isolating, despite being contacted by NHS Test & Trace after Health Secretary Sajid Javid tested positive for COVID-19.
Both the Prime Minister and Chancellor have been contacted after being identified as close contacts to the Health Secretary, but the pair won’t be self-isolating because they are taking part in a pilot scheme where they will be tested daily and therefore not expected to isolate.
The Prime Minister is reported to have attended a meeting with the Health Secretary just a couple of days prior to receiving his positive test result.
The decision has been met by anger on social media.
