Wye Valley NHS Trust has shared its plans to open a state-of-the-art training facility in the centre of Hereford.

The facility would be located on the Hereford County Hospital site, and would benefit the whole of the Hereford community, says Wye Valley NHS Trust.

The dedicated education facility will significantly increase the sites current training and library space within the trust from 1,092m2 to 1,800m2.

Wye Valley NHS Trust says that community services play a key role in keeping people well, in treating and managing illness and conditions, and supporting people to live their best life.

This purpose-built education centre will dissolve historic divides between primary and community health services, whilst maximising learning opportunities for learners across all sectors and services.

The proposal to develop an integrated education facility for the trust will not only provide multi-professional education, but will give the people of Hereford and Herefordshire access to community health education.

Wye Valley NHS Trust’s vision is to create an integrated and inclusive education centre that provides space and resources needed for staff education as well as giving patients and carers access to education and support.

The education centre will include;

State-of-the-art teaching facilities

Increased capacity for multi-professional education

Equitable training and development opportunities

Space and facilities for community wellbeing programmes

Wye Valley NHS Trust says it aims to make the trust the go-to destination for quality education for students and staff, providing a lasting and positive experience. The education centre will play a critical role in supporting recruitment and the retention of staff within Wye Valley NHS Trust.
