Today, on this National Day of Reflection, we wanted a way to mark the occasion in a child friendly way. We decided to plant a tree in the garden, a tree of reflection, which will grow with us over the coming years.
This afternoon, the older preschool children have listened to a story next to the tree and we talked about what we were thankful for. We closed our eyes and remembered the doctors and nurses who have worked so hard to keep us safe and all other key workers who have helped over the year.
Some of the younger children joined us as we thought about how we need to take care of our tree so it grows big and strong. We can’t wait to try the first apples from it.
