The Queen turns 95 today but she is expected to celebrate in a much more toned down way in comparison to normal, following the recent death of Prince Philip.
The Queen will have a relatively low-key 95th birthday due to the death of her husband Prince Philip. His funeral only taking place just four days ago at Windsor Castle.
Once again this year, the Queen’s birthday will pass without a gun salute for a second time, as she continues to mourn the loss of her husband. A gun salute last year was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
With the Royal Family still mourning the loss of Prince Philip, the Queen is expected to join close members of her family for a quiet lunch at Windsor Castle.
