From Herefordshire Riding for the Disabled:

One of RDA star horses ‘Jelly’ needs to enter retirement and we must find sufficient funding to purchase her replacement. Jelly really is a star horse who will stand quietly at the mounting block for all riders, doesn’t flinch with any loud noises and is loved by all. It is going to be tough finding her replacement as horses like Jelly aren’t easy to find but in order to keep giving therapy sessions for our clients, this fundraising campaign is now urgent.

Jelly has a stiffness in one of her legs which is gradually getting worse and prevents her from doing lot of fast work with her riders. She needs to retire by the end of 2021 to a quiet home where she will make a great asset for someone.

New horses are becoming increasingly expensive and we are needing to find ÂŁ4,000 to buy this type of horse. Any donations that will help us towards our fundraising total will be very welcome. Or could hold a fundraising event for us ? Maybe a coffee morning this summer or sponsored activity?

Who are Herefordshire Riding for the Disabled?

We provide riding therapy sessions to people with additional needs – ensuring they can enjoy horse riding and a physical activity.

People that attend our RDA Centre range from 5 – 85 years old and have a wide range of disabilities or additional needs.

The benefits of attending an RDA session are numerous and we hope to improve not only riding skills but also core strength, communication and enjoyment!

Our sessions run through the week and after school and we also provide sessions for a number of special schools in Herefordshire and the surrounding counties.

Please get in touch if you are interested in attending a session or volunteering with us.
