From Beer on the Wye:

NOT QUITE BEER ON THE WYE: A BEER & CIDER PUB TRAIL FOR HEREFORD

When we reported the sad news that Beer on the Wye was cancelled again for this year, we also promised to look at running a pub-based beer and cider event in Hereford city over the same weekend as a consolation. This suggestion seemed to meet with strong approval.

Therefore – following a recent Zoom meeting – we have now dispensed with the navel-gazing, and have moved decisively to planning to actually make it happen. Later this month we will be sending out invitation letters to Hereford publicans asking them if they would like their pub to participate in this exciting venture. The expectation is that we’ll get a good crop of city pubs up for it, who will hopefully then provide interesting and different cask ales, plus local ciders and perries over a three-day weekend. As the title suggests, it’s not quite Beer on the Wye, but with oodles of interesting beers, ciders and perries likely to be available it’s going to be the next best thing. And what a great way to support the city’s pubs after the dreadful twelve months or so they’ve had.

We’ll now be posting regular updates on our progress, but in the meantime put the dates in your diary for Not Quite Beer on the Wye: Friday 9th to Sunday 11th JULY. It promises to be quite a weekend!
