A fundraising event is to be held in memory of a 30-year-old man from Hereford who died unexpectedly in January 2023.
Matty Morgan passed away in January 2023, aged just 30-years-old, and his wife Natalie has organised an event later this month in his memory.
The event will take place at the Wobbly Brewery in Hereford on Saturday 15th June from 7pm.
It promises to be a fantastic night of live music and fundraising.
Natalie hopes to raise £6,500 so that they can host a heart screening event for 18-34 year olds in Herefordshire in memory of Matty.
A post on the Go Fund Me page, which has already raised more than £500 says:
“I am raising funds for Cardiac Risk in The Young in memory of my incredible husband, Matty.
“Matty very sadly and unexpectedly passed away in January 2023 aged only 30 years old.
“Matty was not only my amazing husband and best friend but he was also an extremely talented musician.
“We were in a band together and he immersed himself in music every single day.
“I am putting together a night of music and fundraising in his memory and will be donating all money raised to Cardiac Risk in The Young.
“My goal is to ensure that everyone has access to vital heart screening.
“I am planning on raising enough money to be able to hold a screening event in our hometown in Matty’s memory.
“I need to raise a total of £6500 to be able to achieve my goal.
“If you would prefer to donate directly to Matty’s memorial fund that has been created by C.R.Y you can do so using the following link https://www.c-r-y.org.uk/matty-morgan/
“I would truly appreciate your support and any donation (no matter how big or small) helps to make a difference.
“You can find out a bit more about Cardiac Risk in The Young (C.R.Y) below:
“Every week in the UK at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions.
“With your donation, CRY can reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of our young.
“By supporting CRY you will help save young lives from these potentially fatal cardiac conditions.
