If the past twelve months have taught us anything, it’s that good always outweighs bad in the end and that’s thanks to fantastic members of the community such as Margaret from Hereford.

Margaret was landlady at The Queen’s Arms in Hereford for 20 years and has raised over a million pound for charity over the years. WOW!

After losing her husband Tom, Margaret needed to keep busy and occupy her time. So she started making blankets for care home residents.

Daniel Bridges who is the manager of Hampton Grange and Gwen Walford Nursing Homes posted the following on behalf of Hampton Grange Nursing Home:

“Thank you so much to Margaret Wheatstone, a member of the local community who has knitted theses amazing blankets and throws for our residents at Hampton Grange Nursing Home.

“The daughter of Margaret contacted me at the home to say that she had made these wonderful items and that she would like to donate them to the residents.

“I think lock down has been difficult for many but Margaret especially after losing her husband Tom, she needed to keep busy and occupy her time. What a wonderful thing to do by giving back and being so creative. I think you would agree Margaret is very talented indeed. As you can see from the residents faces these have gone down a storm.”
