COVID-19 infection rates in many parts of Herefordshire are rapidly rising, in data for the week ending 1st January. The biggest concern is that in recent days, Herefordshire has recorded even higher numbers of new cases and therefore as we head further into January, the already rapidly rising infection rate is only going to rise even further.

Many rural areas seem to be missing the worst of things but infection rates in Hereford, Leominster and Ross-on-Wye really are rising at a worrying rate. One part of Hereford has an infection rate of above 700 cases per 100,000 population, that is among the highest rates in the West Midlands.
