Hereford Running Club Wye Valley Runners has donated £2,000 to St Michael’s Hospice following a year of fundraising to celebrate the club’s 40th birthday.
Club Chair Paddy Nugent said:
“We wanted our big birthday to have a lasting impact on the community we serve – and what better way than to support the fantastic work of our local hospice.
“With fabulous support from local company Clear Storage, we brought back the infamous Crocodile 8 race around Burghill and Tillington.
“After a 3-year break, the event was a huge success enabling us also to donate £500 to Burghill Community Academy School.
“Throughout the year, club members have been raising money where they can – including a series of dawn yoga sessions on the terrace at the hospice.
“We are very grateful to our club members, everyone in the Herefordshire community, our friends at Clear Storage the lovely community in Burghill and Tillington and the team at Your Herefordshire. Look out for details of the 2024 Crocodile 8 soon.”
