Workplace training specialists HGTA (Herefordshire Group Training Association) celebrated local businesses and learners at their Annual Apprentice Awards Evening last Wednesday (13 November).
The event attracted over 300 guests to The Courtyard in Hereford; including the Mayor of Hereford, the Deputy Lord Lieutenant, the High Sheriff of Herefordshire and Chairman of the Council as well as many representatives from local businesses, educational establishments and learners.
The evening also included an inspirational talk from special guest speaker Belinda Kirk, who has worked with explorers such as Bear Grylls and Ray Mears. Belinda spoke about how she has helped others to overcome adversity during her travels and encouraged attendees to step out of their comfort zone.
Engineering and Commerce Apprentices were awarded their Qualification certificates during the evening, as well as the first ever cohort of Management apprentices. This was followed by a presentation of HGTA Special Awards which go to the highest commended Apprentices in their specialist area and year of study as well as awards for Employer of the Year and Apprentice Champion.
