Police are appealing for witnesses in connection with an incident in Evenlode Road, Gloucester yesterday morning (Thursday 4 June).

Officers were initially called at around 11.15am following a report that a man armed with a knife was making threats towards another man.

The incident took place outside a school, which activated its lockdown protocol as a precaution.

A large police presence was sent to the area in response to the call. Neighbourhood officers remained in the area to offer support and reassurance to the school and local community.

It is believed that this is linked to an incident that took place shortly beforehand in Evenlode Road involving the sighting of a firearm in a vehicle that was travelling in the area at the time.

The vehicle is understood to have been a black Renault Clio.

Nobody was injured in the incidents and enquiries are ongoing. No arrests have currently been made in connection with either report.

This is believed to be an isolated incident and the men involved had no direct connection to the school.

Investigating officers would now like to hear from anybody with any information relating to the incident.

They are particularly keen to hear from any witnesses who may have seen the car, which was in the area between 10.20am and 11.15am, or who has relevant dashcam or CCTV footage.
