Luctonians retained second place in the league table with a 26-19 win over Taunton Titans on Saturday.
In an important National Two West win, the Lucs remain eight points behind league leaders Camborne as they now prepare for their next game against Barnstaple RFC on the 14th February.
The seconds and thirds were also successful, with a 35–17 home win over Silhillians RUFC for the seconds and a 24–17 away triumph against Wolverhampton RUFC for the thirds ended what had been a very prosperous weekend for the Luctonians.
As for Hereford FC, they fell further down the National League North table after a defeat away to Curzon Ashton left them sat in 23rd in the National League North league table.
Despite Lewis Hudson giving the Bulls an early lead, a goal four minutes later from Curzon’s Ben Derby equalised the game once more.
A second-half goal from Joel Amado secured the three points for the hosts and gave Hereford another blow in their hopes of staying up.
Hereford RFC narrowly lost their game on the weekend after travelling to face Old Halesonians in a tight 37-36 game in league action.
The Wyesiders now sit ninth in the Regional 2 Midlands West table and they will take on sixth placed Ludlow at home on the 14th February.
However, their seconds were successful, defeating Bishops Castle & OV RFC in a dominant 44-17 game with Ben Gillett picking up Man of the Match.
Ledbury RFC were triumphant in their Counties 1 Midlands West (South) away game against Earlsdon, winning 21-0.
In the Hellenic League Premier Division, Westfields lost 2-0 away to Worcester Raiders and Lydney Town lost 3-0 away at Royal Wootton Bassett Town. Hereford Pegasus saw their game postponed.
Meanwhile in the Hellenic League Division One, Wellington were beaten away by Alcester Town, losing 2-0, while Ludlow Town’s game against Wantage Town ended level at 2-2.
In the Southern League Premier Central, Worcester City won at home, defeating Stratford 1-0 with the one and only goal scored by Daniel Sweeney.
Malvern Town defeated Brixham in a thrilling Southern League Division One South league match, securing a dominant 7-3 win which featured a Piers Walton hat-trick.
In the Herefordshire Football League, UDA Glos defeated Kington Town 2-0, Worcester City FC Reserves comfortably beat Pershore Town 88 Development 5-1, and Ludlow Town FC Reserves were victorious at home against AFC Worcester First Team, winning 1-0.
In Basketball, Hereford’s Elite Senior Men’s side lost to the travelling Bromsgrove Bears Senior Men’s team, 77-104.
On Sunday the Luctonians Vixens hosted a friendly against Hereford Wyverns, with a few players from Greyhound Ladies to boost numbers too. The game gave a chance for the ladies to play for the first time since November, with the ultimate result being 31-0 to the Lucs.
