A warning has been issued following reports of a dog attack at a local beauty spot.

The Malvern Hills Trust issued the following statement earlier today:

“On 3rd August, our ranger received a report of a livestock attack, involving five dogs.

“Members of the public who discovered the lamb were able to chase the dogs away – our ranger and the grazier were quick on the scene but very sadly the lamb died from its injuries.

“This was a terribly upsetting incident for everyone involved.

“If you were to put yourself in the place of the animal being chased, and viciously attacked, you would be terrified. It is cruel to subject livestock to this experience, and yet so easy to prevent – so please, spread the message.

“By following signage and putting your dog on a lead near livestock you can put an end to these incidents and remove the worry when walking your dog in this farmed landscape.”
