Police have provided an update after receiving several reports about dangerous driving in Hereford.

From West Mercia Police:

“Following a number of reports of dangerous driving by an individual in Hereford earlier this week, officers have now arrested a male from Hereford for the offence of Dangerous Driving.

“The vehicle concerned has also been located and recovered for mechanical examination.

“Thank you to members of the public who reported this and submitted their own footage to both Operation Snap and via the reporting platform on our website.

“This kind of behaviour on our roads will not be tolerated and we will do all we can to ensure our roads are safer for all that use them.”

Your Herefordshire has been sent a video of some concerning footage of a motorist travelling at excessive speed in Hereford.

The footage, circulating around Instagram, appears to show a vehicle travelling at excessive speed along Aylestone Hill in Hereford.

Several people have sent the video to us.

We understand West Mercia Police have been informed and we have contacted them for further information. 

As part of Operation Snap, members of the public can report and submit digital footage showing potential traffic offences via a secure online form.

This can range from driving dangerously or carelessly to overtaking on solid white lines, using a mobile phone while driving, ignoring traffic lights or dangerous driving around other road users, such as horse riders and cyclists.
