Join Denco in celebrating an extraordinary milestone as we honour Huw’s incredible 50 years of unwavering commitment and invaluable contributions to Denco Fluid Systems!
Huw’s journey began at just 16, straight from school, as a craft apprentice. After a year at Wiggins Apprentice School, he started hands-on training at our Holmer Road facility – and he’s been a cornerstone of our team ever since!
During his four-year apprenticeship, Huw rotated through various departments, even cherishing unique traditions like “Fish Tuesdays” and “Steak Wednesdays” in maintenance, and taking time off for broad bean harvesting and mushroom foraging! After his apprenticeship, Huw joined the lubrication team, working on the very same equipment he still assembles today. He eventually advanced to supervisor before moving to the Air Conditioning and Sheet Metal Division, where he remained through multiple ownership changes, notably spending a decade on the night shift. His work during this period included large-scale projects for Heathrow Terminal 5 and the London Olympic Village.
Huw was also instrumental in the relocation of Denco from Holmer Road to our Moreton-on-Lugg site, where he spent eight years supervising the assembly shop.
About a decade ago, in a wonderful full-circle moment, Huw returned to the lubrication division at Denco Fluid Systems in Rotherwas, reuniting with the same lubrication pumps he first worked on five decades earlier. His remarkable journey brings him right back to where it all began at age 16.
Huw’s dedication, vast experience, and profound knowledge are an inspiration to us all. He embodies the spirit of Denco Fluid Systems, and we are immensely grateful for his incredible loyalty and impact over half a century.
Congratulations, Huw, on this truly outstanding achievement!
